The Rock FWC will hold a night of worship and prayer the first Sunday night of each month in 2008. Beginning at 6pm, your family can join together with other families to worship a Living God and experience His presence!

What an opportunity for you and your children to worship together! Because this is not a typical service, your children will have the opportunity to dance in praise, walk beside you in prayer, and be an active participant in our special night of worship. What a great way for them to live out their faith as you model it and encourage them to do what you do!

God wants the children to see Him in His miracle working power. Consider Luke 10:21, At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure."

Need tips to help your children stay focused and be prepared? Click "Read More"...

1. Prepare your child in advance Keep praise music in the car and in the house. Make praise and worship a family lifestyle, not an event for adults. 2. Teach your child how to behave in worship. Teach the step-by-step of what happens at a Night of Worship. "There will be a drummer you can watch. A keyboard player. Guitars. There will be lots of colored lights on the stage. When the music begins, we will stand up. You can stand up next to me - or stand up on the seat beside me if your shoes are clean. We stand up because we honor God when we stand to sing to Him. I will let you know when it is okay to sit down." 3. Teach your child ways they can worship - even if they don't know the words of the songs. "Even if you can't sing along on the song, you can still worship the Lord. Show me one of the 7 ways to worship the Lord. You can barak and bow down. You can todah and lift your hands up high. You can yadah and give God a hug. Even if you don't have a musical instrument to Zamar, you can use your hands and clap, snap, or tap. You can hallal and dance before the Lord. Not dance crazy. Dance to worship Jesus. If you don't know the words of the song, you can still Tehillah. Make up your own words and sing a song of praise to God. At Night of Worship, we're going to praise Him together." 4. The week prior, begin reminding your child. "Next week, we will get to go to Night of Worship and Prayer together." "In two days, we will worship together at Night of Worship." "Tomorrow, we will worship together at Night of Worship. Remember what I've taught you. We will have fun together worshipping Jesus." "Tonight, we're going to worship and pray together." 5. Prepare hours before coming. Make sure your child has a full stomach, has gone to the restroom, and has brought their Bible or a Bible storybook to look at when they have finished worshipping. 6. That night... Arrive early to get a seat where your child can see. That is paramount! If your child is looking at the backside of the person in front of them - and can see nothing beyond that point - then their attention span will be very short. (Imagine if it were you who was not able to see!) Go to the restroom before it begins. Show your child excitement that you will get to worship together as a family. Keep an eye on your child, constantly encouraging them to praise the Lord. Don't make them sit down and be quiet. Involve them in worship and prayer. If you walk and pray, then have your child walk beside you and pray. We realize it is an effort to involve the family in worship. It is worth the effort, even if your child becomes restless after 30 minutes. How many other times have you spent 30 minutes praising and praying together as a family with other families? Afterall, every other service you get to praise the Lord without your children. Make these opportunities a good memory in the life of your child and strengthen your family.
